The Space

The ground-floor studio of a freshly renovated duplex in Hillcrest's Cypress neighborhood โ€” sharing the same canyon-edge setting and parking as the upstairs 1-bedroom, but with its own address and character. Full kitchen, a proper dining area with canyon views that doubles easily as a desk setup, good closet space, and a built-in dresser so you're not living out of boxes.

Where this studio stands out is the kitchen and the outdoor space. The kitchen is genuinely full-sized โ€” not the afterthought you find in most studios. The large private patio behind its own locking entry gate gives you a real place to eat outside, have coffee, or just decompress. Large windows throughout bring in natural light and a consistent canyon breeze that keeps the unit comfortable most of the year. Mini-split AC and heat are there when you need them.

Laundry is in a dedicated private room adjoining the unit โ€” not shared, not in the unit itself, but yours alone with a private door. The unit features sound-dampened construction with thick plaster ceilings and acoustic underlay above to keep things noticeably quieter than a typical ground-floor unit.

On foot from your door

Step into Cypress Canyon Open Space from the neighborhood edge, follow the trail to the footbridge over Highway 163, and you're in Bankers Hill โ€” restaurant row, boutique coffee, and the western entrance to Balboa Park. The San Diego Zoo is a 15-minute walk the other direction. No car needed for any of it.
